Philippa's/Ram's History
I am Originally from Fort St. John in Northern B.C. I grew up on an 900 acre mixed grain farm with chickens, cows and few horses, pigs and always a dog or cat. I learned the joy and challenge of physical labour and caring for animals and explored the great north through camping and canoeing with my family. My mother was born in Kerala, India and later taught in TamilNadu, India for three years so I always had a connection with India through my mum's experience there and the many Indian things in our home. I always enjoyed dancing, theatre, music, singing and writing and was involved in the arts as a child but in my teen years I became very active in the Anglican youth group and was passionate about the spiritual and social life of a Christian. Rather than pursue my passion for the Arts at University, I chose subjects that I thought would give me a job in teaching high school, History and French. but later after many life-changing events and backpacking in South and Latin America, I discovered yoga on a video in 1993. I found strength immediately and soon I left an unhealthy relationship, moved to Vancouver and eventullay found yoga again in a 6 week course. Life soon led me to NYC to finally pursue my passion, acting. In acting school I started Kundalini Yoga lessons and discovered modern dance and choreography. In addition to my training as a Kundalini Yoga teacher, I danced and acted for 11 years in NYC before moving to Quebec in 2005. My husband Nandu and I are blessed to have two beautiful daughters.
